After graduating from York University’s coveted YSDN Bachelor of Design (honors), designer Jake Oliveira narrowed his focus to specialize in industrial design. His tenure as a designer has seen him cut his teeth at three prominent Toronto studios, before the founding of his eponymous practice.
Jake creates pieces that juxtapose architectural restraint and drama. A key fulcrum of his design identity is the contrast of material and form. His playful curiosity and love of engineering result in designs that both honor and manipulate materials; re-imagining their potential to awe-inspiring effect.
